As an area of humid tropical forest and beaches of volcanic origin, Chocó is considered one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. It has unsurpassed natural resources, including one of the most diverse communities of plant and insect species on earth. The bird population exceeds 600 species, and the underwater fauna is more varied and exuberant than that of the Atlantic. Freshwater is abundant. Rivers and streams of pure water flow down from the jungle, forming puddles and waterfalls to end their journey in the sea. The area is populated at the mouths of the rivers by small fishing communities and their headwaters by some Indigenous settlements of the Emberá ethnic group. The MorroMico beach is a natural anchorage with a beach of more than a thousand meters and five freshwater streams. Waterfalls, Beach, Jungle, and Sea at its best.
